Our large one of a kind Blue Opal is set in a fine sterling shield with an infinity edge that opens toward the sky. It’s surrounded by sterling stars that enhance its protective celestial qualities.
The fine silver surface was made by depletion gilding which results in reticulation. I heated up the sterling silver 8 to 12 separate times in order to oxidize the copper to the surface. I removed the oxidized copper and left a top layer of pure sterling silver which has a brilliant shiny white surface. The texture that you see is a direct result of depletion gilding and cannot be replicated, resulting in a one of a kind setting for this this stunning blue opal.
